BioMonde Hosts Annual Employability Initiative for Cardiff University’s MSc Tissue Engineering Students

Cardiff students at BioMonde for Employability Initiative

Last week, we were delighted to host the annual employability workshop for Cardiff University’s MSc Tissue Engineering students at our headquarters in Bridgend, Wales. The programme is designed to help recent graduates prepare for the workplace, equipping them with the skills and mindset needed to kickstart their careers in the sciences.

Our R&D Project Managers, Micah, and Dan led the workshop, guiding twelve of Cardiff Uni’s brightest students on a tour of the facility. From the fly room to BioBag production, the students were able to observe each stage of the process and experience a typical day in the BioMonde R&D team.

During the lab tour, the team shared their expertise from their commercial biochemistry experience (between them, they have worked nearly two decades at BioMonde!). They also spoke on their career journeys and discussed what they look for in the ideal candidate. Micah reflected on the day:

“Through this initiative, we hoped to share our personal career journeys and experiences to help the students bridge the gap between their scientific education and future careers, developing a strong understanding of the industry and commercial frameworks required to bring a product to market and run production effectively.

We loved answering the students thoughtful questions and engaging with a group of young, budding professionals with a shared passion for patient-focused therapies.”

This visit demonstrates BioMonde’s ongoing partnership with Cardiff University and our commitment to nurturing new talent in the field of biochemistry. We look forward to welcoming the faculty back to BioMonde next year.
