This February, the team travelled to Leeds to host a Burns Masterclass celebrating the launch of our new Northern Network Burns Pathway for Larval Debridement.
Seventeen leading Burns Specialists from across the North attended the event to explore the new decision-making pathway, expand their knowledge of Larval Therapy in burns care, and take part in an open Q&A discussion.
The session was led by our Clinical Support Manager, Vicky, with expert support from the Pathway’s author, Jacky Edwards, Lead Nurse for the Northern Burn Care Network. Attendees gained valuable practical insights into using LDT in a clinical setting and shared their own experiences, creating a highly engaging and collaborative discussion. Each participant received a copy of the pathway to take back to their respective wards and share with their teams.
The event provided a fantastic opportunity for the BioMonde team to forge new relationships and reconnect with familiar faces across the Burns specialty. Follow-up visits with training kits, are already being arranged.
With the success of the Leeds event front of mind, the team’s focus now turns to the South, where they hope to replicate this engaging masterclass.
